Hello Ladies! So excited to be here and Open! Building Nova Women’s Health and Wellness has been a dream of mine for many years. (Except that I really wanted to name it the VAG SHACK.) Although I have been an Obstetrician/Gynecologist for over 15 years–I was finding the new healthcare challenges restricting–not just for me, but for my patients as well. How was I supposed to provide individualized, personal care for women in 10 minutes? How was I supposed to offer women their full options–when certain options were deemed “costly” to the organization?” And how was I supposed to “track” into either being an Obstetrician or Gynecologist–but not both? It wasn’t what I had gone to medical school for and many years of medical training.
Then, when I moved to Bozeman 3 years ago, I realized that this is the perfect place to help set up a clinic for women, by women; for the community, in the community and to help advance women’s health throughout the state (More on this later.)
The vision started with a small building on 7th that I found and fell in love with. The process included a complete redo of the interior in a way to promote energy and space efficiency and leave a smaller impact on the environment. Rebuilding the inside into a comfortable, clean, beautiful clinic was exciting–and all that I had hoped for.
Just want to thank my husband, John, for allowing me to fulfill this dream without a bat of an eye. For my children and friends who pitched in to help. And to Tina Ovnic at Hisa construction, Patrick, Tony, Nick, Mike, and others for helping make this a great space!
